This week I am thankful for a loving Heavenly
Father, who is very aware of my needs. This week while on exchange elder Jensen
found 3 amazing people for us to start teaching:) The first one is named
Connie. She is from Germany and is the sweetest, kindest lady I have ever meet.
Elder Jensen and elder Webb found her while street contacting and gave her a
Book of Mormon. A couple weeks later elder Jensen and elder Iglinski went to
see her again and found out that she had read some of the Book of Mormon and that
she loved what it contained. She asked where our church building was. They
invited her to church, and she actually came! She only stayed for sacrament
meeting, but she said she loved how loving and nice everyone was to her and
that she would come again. Our bishop also invited her to dinner, and our
relief society president is going to go to her house and visit her. I love this
ward! We are giving her a call this week and are going to teach her the Plan of
Salvation. Please pray that her heart will continue to be softened and that we
will be able to teach with the spirit. They also meet this really awesome lady
named Mandy. They meet her in her garage and she had tones of honest questions.
They taught her part of the Restoration and left her with a Book of Mormon.
When it was time for them to leave, she was the one who asked if they could
come back. We have a meeting with her on Friday! It was just an awesome
week all around, we were able to teach tones of amazing people. It is such a
blessing to be able to see fruits of our labors. It is so exciting to finally
have people to teach! I have really learned the importance of hard work and
trusting in the Lord. This week I have also continued to work on talking with
everyone, and I mean everyone:) I have little by little started to over come my
fear of talking to everyone. It is just such a powerful though to know that all
of these people I pass every day could right now be prepared to accept the
gospel. This world is full of amazing people, and you will never be able to
find out who they are unless you go up and simply talk with them. I think this
principle is the key to missionary work. It makes your days feel productive, it
makes you happy, and it makes you feel like you are really representing the
Lord Jesus Christ. This same principle applies to members of the church. Talk
with everyone, listen to them, love them, and then share with them from the
heart what you know to be true.
Well I
hope everyone is happy and enjoying the start of another wonderful school year!
I know that God lives, and that Jesus Christ is the only way to have real
preace and happiness in this world. Have a great week!
Also Shout out to
Scott for popping the Q!!:) Congratulations!
Love,
Elder Griffin
